Frequently Asked Questions...
What Nikon D40 package should I get? ?
I think I've decided to get the D40 over the D40x or D60 (good decision? idk feedback)
Now should I get the D40 with 18-55 mm AF-S VR and 55-200mm VR? Or should I get the D40 body separately and then get the 18-200mm lens? Is the 18-200 VR? Is the picture quality the same if you use the other lenses separately? because if the 18-200 lens is a lot bigger and bulkier than the other 2 separately I don't know if I would like having the big lens all the time?
Is it better to get the D40, D40x or D60 or even the D80 for my first D-SLR? I kind of want to get the D60 but is it really better than the D40? I know it has dust control and more mp but really? . I know the mp doesn't matter THAT much. Also if I get the D40 I dont know what lenses to get, I don't have the money to really expensive lenses.
Any help would be great thanks!! [[this is like the 2309483290 question i've asked yahoo answers in like 2 days on cameras haha]]
Answer:
Its good that you are excited. Unless you are doing very large output you will not miss the megapixels the D60 has over the D40 I have a D300 and a D40 and when I am shooting for fun I still grab the D40 much of the time. AS to the lenses its really hard to beat the price of the 2 lens kit. You will probably never get lenses at that price new anywhere else. Here is that kit

it covers a great range between the two its not VR but keep your shutter speed at or above the reciprocal of the lens and you will not miss VR . The 18-200 is a very good lens and yes its more convenient not to have to change lenses but you have to ask as a beginner if that money could be better spent elsewehere such as a tripod or speedlight . You will be able to learn to take great pictures with either lens combination
enjoy your new camera whatever you get
Added " wow Morey000 over two years old... I guess my FE, FM and F2 should be in a museum ~lol~ and the D40 is a current production model on the Nikon USA website. The D40X is no longer carried on that page http://www.nikonusa.com/Find-Your-Nikon/Digital-SLR/index.page
